Went out with Kit and some other friends for supper for the last two days and it was interesting getting introduced to the world of drifting. I'm not a maestro on wheels, and not really much of a tech guy either but it is intriguing hearing and seeing what they know. though i've got to admit i have a few other frens( who i should not name for the sake of not embarrassing them, haha) who seem to think they know all about drifting when all they've done is pulled the handbrakes a couple of times in their hondas and whathaveyous.

Anyway, from what little i've gathered, this is a very expensive hobby to get started.for starters, there is a need to acquire the skills, and there is no better way to do that than constant practice, which leads to unbelievable tyre wear. then there is the machine setup, with the suspension settings, LSDs, camber settings, etc. And they were telling me they mostly have TWO sets of rims, as its easier changing rims than tyres>_<

but i guess they'll forget about all that once they get started. I was in one of the cars when they decided to have some fun at an unnamed public car park and though the driver conceded that he probably needs to practice more, i could feel dollops of lateral Gs; we were going round and round, sliding here, sliding there, really adrenaline-inducing^_^

anyway, talked to Chingwei today, one of my hall buddy. he came back to school to collect his results transcript. we had a laugh at the length of his transcript until it dawned onto me mine would be about the same>_<. we also talked about what he's doing now and he was telling me he had SIX interviews lined up for the week. wow. he painted a bleak picture of the employment situation out there, especially for people like us(people like us will know what type of people we are ,>_<). i guess i've got to open myself up to all possible options.
